The Future of Higher Education Post COVID-19
Forecasting - Stakeholder Interviews - Research
In early 2021, I worked on a team that forecasted the future of high education based on the impacts of COVID-19. Our central questions was When will hybrid online/in-person education replace the traditional residential college experience for 80% of 4-year US universities?
The Challenge
Consider the future of the world post Covid-19. Choose a specific area and find a compelling central question.
The Journey
Chose higher education as my topic and worked on a team of three to develop our central question. Researched the current state of affairs and similar or relevant historical events. Conducted stakeholder interviews. Identified driving forces that play a key role. Used 2x2 matrices to identify scenarios based on the driving forces. Identified additional wildcard scenarios. Created a futures timeline to visualize our findings and summarize our forecast.
The Outcome
Produced a 35 page report that outlined all of our results in detail. Created a presentation/deck that summarized our results in a more consise manner. Presented findings to our professors and peers.
